The common belief that Linux is difficult to install is being perpetuated by word of mouth - not practical experience. The latest version of Mandrake (for example) is much, much simpler and faster to install than it was with the earlier versions. I just installed SimplyMepis and was amazed at how nicely everything went. It is time to start changing the word of mouth from how hard Linux is to install, to how easy and nicely many distributions install.
