INFORMATION ASSISTANT (Re-announcement)
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Viet Nam is seeking highly qualified and appropriately experienced national candidates for the position INFORMATION ASSISTANT at GS-5 level. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support UNDP Project including: 1. Maintain and trouble shoot the communication links with Central Government Agencies, UNDP project sites and other remote access users. 2. Keep projects informed about upgrade and other development initiated by UNDP. 3. Assist projects in procurement of IT equipment services. 4. Create and maintain email and remote access account of all UNDP projects and remote access users. Maintain the email directory of all UNDP project staff and provide other IT services listed in the price list of UNDP Service Centre. Support other UN Agencies including: 1. Trouble shoot at user’s workstations of UNIDO staff sitting at UNDP premise. 2. Maintain and trouble shoot the communication links with other UN Agencies such as UNESCO, UNFPA, IMF. Assist UN Agencies staffs in accessing Internet services through UNDP network. 3. Update the email address of all UN Agencies staffs in Viet Nam to UNDP Directory Server. Assist UN Agencies in transferring/updating theirs website to UNDP web server. 4. Provide other IT services listed in the price list of UNDP Service Centre. Support UNDP office including: 1. Ensure the smooth operation of all user workstation including the trouble shooting of all user workstation on hardware, software and printing. 2. Backup the Information Officer when he is on leave. 3. Assist the office IT Advisory Group in technical specification for procurement of new hardware/software and keeps abreast at the latest development of hardware and software available in Vietnam. Support UNDP Service Centre: 1. Trouble shoot at user’s workstations of UNDP Service Centre staffs. 2. Maintain and development of softwares managed by Service Centre (such as UNDP consultant roster). 3. Prepare the IT cost recovery monthly report from UNDP projects and UN agencies and performs other duties designated by the supervisor. 4. Perform other duties as requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES: - First University Degree in Computer Science, plus solid knowledge of software programmes and in particular ASP, SQL; - Minimum three years of practical experience in computer; - Good command of English.
