Otherwise, wouldn't localization just be done via string cross-references in a MySQL, PostGreSQL or other database (for PHP as well)? Good examples of as much would include these localizations of PHPNuke or PostNuke, no?: http://vnlinux.org/ ([New?] VietLUG) http://www.hn-ams.org/ (HaNoi-Amsterdam Org) http://vietlug.sourceforge.net/ (Old[?] VietLug) Isn't all that's necessary explained at these URLs?: http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Localisation.html (MySQL Manual | 4.6 MySQL Localisation and International Usage) http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/php/2002/11/28/php_i18n.html (ONLamp.com: Internationalization and Localization with PHP [Nov. 28, 2002]) best, Andi At 18:40 2003.03.01, you wrote: >Dear Stefan, > >Could you create a web page containing these tasks (php/mysql localization >and others) so that people can take a task when they have time? > >Regards, > >On Sat, Mar 01, 2003 at 06:31:44AM +0000, Stefan Probst wrote: > > Dear All, > > > > PHP, the FLOSS server-side language which is often used for dynamic > > webpages, needs also localization. > > > > Actually, it seems, that it bases its country-specific functions a lot on > > the OS. > > > > See e.g. > > http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.setlocale.php > > http://www.php.net/manual/tw/ref.mbstring.php > > > > Does anybody, e.g. in a LUG, have any experience and could write a HOWTO > > for Vietnamese? > > > > Have a nice Sunday, > > Stefan > > > > > > > > > > -- > > Address to post to all list members: oss@isoc-vn.org (NOT: OSS@isoc-vn.org > > !) > > > > URL of List Archives: > > http://www.isoc-vn.org/cgi-bin/mojo/mojo.cgi?f=archive&l=oss > > URL to Subscribe to this list: > > http://www.isoc-vn.org/cgi-bin/mojo272/mojo.cgi?f=n&l=oss > > > > To unsubscribe from: OSS, just follow this link: > > http://www.isoc-vn.org/cgi-bin/mojo272/mojo.cgi?f=u&l=oss > > Click the link, or copy and paste the address into your browser, > > or send a mailto:oss-owner@isoc-vn.org to request manual unsubscription > > by the list administrator. > > > > > >-- >Bi Cờ Lao > > > >-- >Address to post to all list members: oss@isoc-vn.org (NOT: OSS@isoc-vn.org !) > >URL of List Archives: >http://www.isoc-vn.org/cgi-bin/mojo/mojo.cgi?f=archive&l=oss >URL to Subscribe to this list: >http://www.isoc-vn.org/cgi-bin/mojo272/mojo.cgi?f=n&l=oss > >To unsubscribe from: OSS, just follow this link: >http://www.isoc-vn.org/cgi-bin/mojo272/mojo.cgi?f=u&l=oss >Click the link, or copy and paste the address into your browser, >or send a mailto:oss-owner@isoc-vn.org to request manual unsubscription >by the list administrator.
