A recent visit to the Pune LUG website, http://www.plug.org.in/, revealed that these statements are a bit misleading or inaccurate: <...> VietLUG's leadership has decided the addition of "GNU" to VietLUG's name is asking for something not significant to the Vietnamese Free/Linux/Open-source movement in at this time and that they would rather live without Mr Stallman's advice or support for VietLUG. Notably, precedents for this decision have been previously made by the Pune Linux User Group (PLUG) of India and the Las Vegas LUG (LVLUG). References: * [PLUG] Inviting RMS to Pune, http://plug.org.in/pipermail/plug-mail/2001-November/001575.html <...> The PLUG website reveals that, though PLUG has not changed it's acronym to satisfy Mr Stallman's criteria for speaking at a PLUG event, PLUG has indeed included "GNU" in expansions of the acronym "PLUG", to read "PLUG (Pune GNU/Linux Users' Group)", at least on its opening page. In news that may or may not be related, Mr Stallman will be a presenter at The All India Free Software Festival, 16-February-2003. Venue: Symbiosis Vishwa Bhawan, Senapati Bapat Road, Ganesh Khind, *Pune*, India.
