Coalition Unveils Linux Financial Software By James Maguire, NewsFactor Network, February 03, 2003, http://www.newsfactor.com/perl/story/20647.html XTracts: Reuters has released a Linux version of its financial services application, Reuters Market Data System (RMDS). According to the company, initial testing demonstrated that performance on a Linux-based system was "between two and five times greater than that of a competing Unix platform." RMDS on Linux, to be used by financial institutions to integrate the real-time data and news used in trading decisions, is the product of an alliance between Reuters, Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Red Hat.
