* i made what i think is the classic mistake Mr Stallman is now devoted to clarifying, the critical difference between *permitting* the *current* open access of source code (for usage, modification and redistribution) and *maintaining* its *perpetual* openness (in the same sense of open access, usage, modification and [re]distribution). Alas, I think I see another misunderstanding, because none of my messages to the list were about this issue. This is the difference between copyleft free software licenses and non-copyleft free software licenses. There are people who think that these two categories are "free software" and "open source", but that is a misunderstanding which I explained in another message recently. PLEASE read http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/categories.html to clear up the many misunderstandings about these categories.
