it looks to me, that virtually nobody inside Vietnam contributes to the
development of any major SW package. There is some "take it and use it"
(see the Vietnamese Linux Distros and OpenOffice translations), but nothing
is fed back to the project.

This calls for spreading a different idea of what our community is all
about: the idea that we should help each other. There are many ways
to do that, some involving more work than others.

One easy method that will help indirectly is to call these distros
"GNU/Linux Distros". That will help spread awareness of GNU and its
philosophy, which is rather different from the philosophy associated
with the name "Linux". GNU is associated with an idealistic
plan to build our community.

The effect of this is indirect and slow; but it is also a very small
amount of work. You may as well do it, if you don't have time to
help in some more active way.
