Done. But make sure you update your cvs packages first. See:

Release Date: 2003/01/20
Author: Stefan Esser [s.esser@ematters.de]
Application: CVS <= 1.11.4
Severity: A vulnerability within CVS allows remote compromise of CVS servers.
Risk: Critical
Reference: http://security.e-matters.de/advisories/012003.html
Last Modified: 2003/01/20

Then, LinCryptically, take a cvs course at home on your own LinBox, no Net required. Eg, try:

sh-2.05$ cat /etc/distro
Red Slack Enigma 7.2

sh-2.05$ whatis cvs
cvs (1) - Concurrent Versions System
cvs (5) - Concurrent Versions System support files

sh-2.05$ whereis cvs
cvs: /usr/bin/cvs /usr/share/cvs /usr/share/man/man1/cvs.1.gz /usr/share/man/man5/cvs.5.gz

sh-2.05$ apropos cvs
Cervisia [cervisia] (1) - Graphical CVS frontend
cvs (1) - Concurrent Versions System
cvs (5) - Concurrent Versions System support files
cvs2pack (1) - Creates standalone dist tarballs for apps in KDE CVS
cvsbug (8) - send problem report (PR) about CVS to a central support site
kde-build (1) - Updates and recompiles a tree of KDE CVS modules
mod_perl_cvs (3pm) - Access to the mod_perl CVS development tree
rcvstore (1) - asynchronously incorporate mail into a folder
sh-2.05$

See "man cvs"

See also "info emacs", then search for "cvs" or "Version Control" in the emacs info.

Notably, from "man emacs" :: "AUTHORS: Emacs was written by Richard Stallman and the Free Software Foundation. Joachim Martillo and Robert Krawitz added the X features. 1995 December 7. EMACS(1)"

Finally, anyone working on sourceforge.net has access to cvs via thier project pages.

All the best,
AD.VICE@ParadoxCafe.Net
