DAU TU (INVESTMENT)

VIETNAMESE ENTERPRISES NOT KEEN ON E-COMMERCE

Only 3 per cent of enterprises are interested in electronic commerce,
according to a recent survey by the Ministry of Trade. The survey also
found that 7 per cent of enterprises are about to use e-commerce, although
90 per cent downright reject it.

"In order to promote e-commerce in Viet Nam, leaders of ministries,
departments and corporations must understand its necessity and importance,"
remarked an expert at the e-commerce relationship bridging programme, which
is part of the Government's strategy to promote e-commerce.

Since Viet Nam was first linked to the Internet, less than 1,500
enterprises have opened a website, and only a few thousand advertising online.
